Kühnl Verpackungen GmbH, based in Maulbronn (Baden-Württemberg), is a manufacturer of custom spool systems made of paper, cardboard, greyboard, composite materials and plastic with recycled granulate. Founded in 1963 by Karl, Walter and Gernot Kühnl, the company develops and manufactures cardboard spools, glued and flanged spools, assembled spools with plastic connectors, plastic spools for high load capacities, detachable kit spools as well as application-optimized cores and connectors. In addition, special spools with individual dimensions and tolerances as well as folding and outer cartons are produced. Spool diameters up to 750 mm are possible; production ranges from sample via prototype to series. The products are used for winding technical textiles, cables, belts, stamped parts, hoses and ropes. With recyclable materials, water-soluble adhesives, optional labeling for traceability, a consignment warehouse and express deliveries, the company supports its customers from design to clean completion. In 2022, Julius Bischoff took over the company. The spools are part of the RESY® system (recycling).
