The Company
Kummer Werkzeugbau GmbH is an owner-managed tool and mould maker based in Gummersbach in the Oberbergisch district (North Rhine-Westphalia). Founded in 1957, the company designs and manufactures injection moulding tools for plastic articles, cutting tools for the packaging industry, high-precision mould inserts, mould components to drawing or data set, and replacement parts from samples. In addition, repairs, optimisations and spare-part manufacture for tools are offered. Manufacturing comprises wire, sinker and start-hole EDM on ten machines, jig, cylindrical and surface grinding (MOORE, TSCHUDIN, ELB-SCHLIFF) as well as 3D milling on 5-axis machining centres. CAD/CAM systems such as Mastercam and Peps with data formats DWG, DXF, STEP, IGES and X_T secure the production process. The company is a long-standing supplier to steel mills, plastic injection moulding operations, mechanical engineering, packaging machinery construction, medical technology, electrical and electronic engineering as well as technical universities, and also manufactures jig parts, prototypes, samples and small series as contract work.
