About LasX Industries
LasX Industries is a supplier of laser converting systems (LaserSharp®) for roll-to-roll and sheet processing of thin materials. The company processes plastic and packaging films, paper, paperboard, pressure-sensitive adhesive, rubber, aluminium and copper foil as well as composites using processes such as laser cutting, perforating, scoring, ablation and marking; demonstrated feature sizes are 25 µm. The service offering comprises three stages: in the PhotonX Innovation Lab, customer materials are tested with CO2, NIR, green and UV lasers (20–2,500 W, 355 nm to 10.6 µm, fs/ps/ns/µs pulses); LasX then manufactures parts on a contract basis from prototype to volume production, ISO 13485 certified for non-metallic medical parts and with cleanroom capability; once volume is established, the company supplies Configure-to-Order machines and LaserSharp modules whose acceptance criteria are based on the laboratory results. Industries served include, among others, flexible packaging, medical technology and diagnostics, labels, folding cartons, gaskets, the battery and electronics industries as well as aerospace. More than 300 systems are installed in over 20 countries; customers include, for example, Procter & Gamble (LaserSharp Marking for Tide Ultra OXI Boost).

Materials & Laser Processes
Laser material scouting (PhotonX Innovation Lab)
Customer material is tested with 20–2,500 W, 355 nm to 10.6 µm and fs/ps/ns/µs pulses and returned with a parameter report.
Laser cutting/micromachining of non-metallic films
Cutting, perforating and scoring of plastic and packaging films, paperboard and paper without cutting tools.
Roll-to-roll laser processing of metal foil
Roll-to-roll cutting and perforation of aluminium and copper foil, e.g. for electrodes and RFID antennas.
Laser die-/kiss-cutting of PSA
Kiss-cutting, die-cutting and microchannels down to 25 µm in pressure-sensitive adhesives for labels and diagnostics.
Laser processing of non-metallic medical parts
Micron-accurate structures in medical films and laminates with cleanroom capability, ISO 13485 certified.
Laser cut & mark of rubber gaskets
Tool-free cutting and marking of gaskets; a part change is a file change.
LaserSharp Marking
Direct, ink- and label-free high-resolution marking of packaging at production speed.
