Lohnhärterei Faulhaber GmbH & Co KG in Zella-Mehlis is a traditional contract heat treatment company specializing in thermal and thermochemical heat treatment of metals. The service portfolio includes hardening under protective gas up to 1050 °C and in salt bath up to 950 °C, case hardening, carburizing, carbonitriding, hardening and tempering, vacuum hardening up to 1300 °C with the Solnit process, induction hardening, tempering under nitrogen as well as deep freezing. Further processes are bath nitriding (Tenifer treatment), long-duration gas nitriding and nitrocarburizing – each also with oxidizing – as well as steam treatment of sintered metals. The offering is complemented by annealing processes such as stress-relief, soft, diffusion, normalizing, grain-coarsening and recrystallization annealing, solution annealing and age hardening of aluminium alloys, straightening and shot peening. The company works with modern equipment, high-quality testing technology and thorough documentation and operates a materials testing laboratory. A collection and delivery service rounds out the service; deliveries are made throughout Europe.
