About Maierbräu
Maierbräu GmbH & Co. KG is a family-run country brewery in Altomünster that has been owned by the Maier family since 1886 and is now run by Christoph Maier in the fifth generation. The brewery produces natural beer specialties that mature in the vaulted cellar without pasteurization, as well as non-alcoholic soft drinks. The processes include the wort boiling process in the company's own brewhouse, the malthouse, fermentation and storage cellars, and bottle and keg filling; special bottlings such as the 1-liter swing-top bottle are filled and labeled by hand. With around 30 employees, the brewery supplies gastronomy, canteens, clubs and the beverage retail trade within a 50 km radius between Munich and Augsburg, supplemented by a beverage home delivery service and brewery tours. The operation includes a brewery inn with hotel on the market square of Altomünster. Beer quality is regularly confirmed by DLG awards, most recently with seven golden DLG prizes in 2024.

Beer quality is regularly tested by the DLG (Deutsche Landwirtschafts-Gesellschaft); in 2024 all seven beers submitted were awarded gold medals. Natural beers without pasteurization are offered, which mature in the vaulted cellar.
