Track construction machinery from Switzerland since 1945
MATISA Matériel Industriel S.A. is a Swiss manufacturer of track construction machinery founded in 1945 by Constantin Sfezzo, headquartered and with its main production site in Crissier in the canton of Vaud. The product range comprises mainline tamping machines and universal tamping machines, continuous track construction and track renewal trains, ballast cleaning machines, ballast regulating machines, measurement trains as well as switch transport wagons. Design and manufacturing take place at the same site, enabling close coordination between the engineering office and production; the machines are produced as one-off units in order-related manufacturing. In addition, MATISA develops embedded electronics and automation technology for rail vehicles under the METeor brand and operates its own test laboratory. The company holds ECM certification 1 as well as the maintenance certificate for functions 2, 3 and 4 and offers service, overhauls, spare parts and obsolescence management over a service life of 20 to 30 years. Customers include, among others, London Underground, Network Rail, VolkerRail, Colas Rail and the Korean State Railway. A strategic partnership with Speno International has existed since around 2000; together, new machine generations are developed and manufactured.
