About Us
Mechanische Werkstatt Lothar Günther is a fine mechanical master workshop founded in 1990, based in Altenberg (Bärenstein district) in the Eastern Ore Mountains, near the watchmaking town of Glashütte and not far from Dresden. The family business produces CNC turned parts on sliding-headstock lathes up to Ø 16 mm (lot sizes from 500 pieces) as well as turning work on machine tools up to Ø 50 mm. Further services include 5-axis laser processing (marking, engraving, micro-welding/-drilling/-cutting up to 400 mm travel length), drilling and tapping, sheet metal and punching work up to 1.5 mm, mechanical processing of plastics, and the assembly of individual parts into small assemblies, including CAD design. Production is carried out in machinable metals — including stainless steel — and plastics, primarily for measurement and control technology, electronics, optics, telecommunications, aerospace as well as precision engineering and medical technology. With the Uni Scriber (Unireißer), the company also develops its own product with utility model protection.

Materials and Processes
Machinable Metals
Base materials for CNC turned parts and assemblies in precision engineering and devices.
Stainless Steel
Used, for example, for products such as the Uni Scriber (angle) with a smooth, flat back-surface design.
Plastics
Mechanical processing up to Ø 50 mm; also laser-markable.
