Aluminium casting since 1937 – casting and machining under one roof
Metallgießerei Franz Dussler GmbH is a family-owned company in Königsbrunn near Augsburg that has been producing aluminium castings since 1937. The company produces raw castings from aluminium alloys (AlSi) using the sand moulding process with clay-bonded moulding material for prototype construction, individual and sample parts, and small series up to a mould box size of 2.5 m. In its own CNC machining centre, the castings are mechanically finished – including 5-axis machining and cycle-controlled precision turning – inspected by 3D measurement and, on request, assembled ready for installation, including surface finishing via a partner network. Depending on the scope of the order, Dussler supplies raw castings, machined or ready-to-install components; a casting reaches production readiness within six calendar weeks. The company supports projects from design and manufacturing consulting based on 2D drawings and 3D CAD data through to material selection. Customers come from mechanical and plant engineering, commercial and automotive vehicle construction, medical technology, the food industry, the electrical industry, architecture and construction, art casting, marine, toolmaking and laser technology.

Materials and Processes
Aluminium alloys (AlSi)
Raw castings produced by the sand moulding process with clay-bonded moulding material for prototypes, individual parts and small series up to 2.5 m mould box size.
Sand moulding process (clay-bonded moulding material)
Primary forming process for high-quality surfaces in prototype and small-series production.
CNC machining (including 5-axis)
Mechanical post-machining of the castings in the company's own machining centre through to the ready-to-install component.
Cycle-controlled precision turning (Seiger SLZ 800)
Machining of workpieces with large diameter and length to tight tolerances, including heavy machining.
3D measurement
Geometric inspection of the castings to ensure compliance with the acceptance test criteria.
Assembly
Delivery of ready-to-install components from a single source.
