The Company
Metallgiesserei Josef Ritter OHG (Ritterguss) is a foundry founded in 1981 in Hamburg-Bergedorf that produces castings using the sand casting process in aluminium, bronze, brass and red bronze alloys. The company casts all common aluminium and copper alloys, including G-AlSi5Mg, G-AlSi9Cu3 and G-AlSi10Mg. Its in-house production depth includes its own pattern and mould making with a pattern-making carpentry shop, sand casting using an airflow moulding press machine and a jolt-squeeze moulding machine, as well as hand-moulded work in various mould sizes, fine grinding and heat treatment (solution annealing and artificial ageing) of aluminium castings, all in-house. With 8 melting furnaces, single parts for new developments and spare-part requirements are produced just as much as small to medium-sized series; 3D-printed sand moulds (via suppliers) and rapid prototyping from 3D data are also offered. Mechanical finishing and surface coating (painting, powder coating) are carried out via suppliers. Served industries include mechanical engineering, plant engineering, vehicle construction, manufacturers of medical devices, mould making, the chemical industry, automotive accessory parts and the restoration of historic buildings. The location is Kurt-A.-Körber-Chaussee 39f in 21033 Hamburg.
