About MKB Metallguss
MKB Metallguss GmbH is a family-owned company founded in 1965, headquartered in Eichstätt, producing ready-to-install castings using the permanent mould casting process. Cast materials include pure copper, copper-chromium, brass and special brass alloys, aluminium multi-component bronzes as well as copper and aluminium alloys in accordance with EN 1982 and EN 1706; raw castings are produced to DIN EN ISO 8062-3. The production portfolio includes gravity die casting with tilting equipment, low-pressure permanent mould casting and composite casting, complemented by in-house design consulting (CAD/CAM), in-house toolmaking for moulds and fixtures, CNC machining on 3-, 4- and 5-axis machining centres in 3-shift operation, and heat treatment of hardenable aluminium alloys. Through long-standing partners, MKB organises surface finishing such as shot blasting, anodising, silver plating, nickel plating, chrome plating, painting and pressure impregnation. Partial and complete assembly are also offered, including procurement of bought-in parts, functional testing, metrology with batch documentation and worldwide logistics. The MKB PLUS service package supports customers in mechanical and plant engineering, electrical engineering, rail technology, pump and underwater technology, medical technology, wind energy, e-mobility and the automotive sector.

Materials and Processes
Pure copper
Highest possible electrical conductivity in permanent mould casting, e.g. for contact carriers, short-circuit rings and high-voltage switch parts; silver plating makes contact surfaces even more conductive.
Copper-chromium
Combination of high strength and high conductivity, used for electrode holders and mechanically stressed contacts.
CuNi2Si
Copper alloy from the material table for permanent mould casting.
Brass
Cost-effective structural and conductive material in mechanical engineering with strength levels comparable to steel and good machinability.
Special brass
Individually developed copper-zinc alloys for thin-walled, complex geometries with steel cores; also bevel gears and pump housings.
Aluminium multi-component bronze
High-strength, fatigue-resistant under cyclic loading, seawater- and corrosion-resistant, e.g. in overhead contact line construction, pump engineering and boatbuilding.
Aluminium alloy
Vibration- and impact-resistant, corrosion-resistant structural elements with good machinability, e.g. AlSi12, AlSi9Mg, AlSi10Mg, AlSi7Mg0.3.
Aluminium alloy
Self-hardening alloy with good strength without heat treatment, machinable and weldable.
Gravity die casting
Mould filling by gravity alone with tilting movement during the filling process for improved casting quality.
Low-pressure permanent mould casting
Smooth, bottom-up mould filling by pressure, suitable for copper and aluminium alloys.
Composite casting
Process for applications requiring reliable mechanical properties, e.g. in medical technology.
