About Nehr + Saurer GmbH
Nehr + Saurer GmbH is an established iron foundry with a tradition dating back to 1919. The company specialises in the production of castings in various grey cast iron and spheroidal graphite iron grades. Production covers both conventional hand moulding and modern machine processes such as the ColdBox core shooting machine. The delivery range extends from single parts and prototypes to small series with a unit weight of 0.5 kg to approx. 2500 kg. Cores are produced using the CO² water-glass process and furan resin sand. In addition to production in Göppingen, a separate QA building guarantees maximum precision through ultrasonic, magnetic particle and Brinell testing. The main areas of application are mechanical engineering, the automotive industry and ornamental casting restoration.

Quality Assurance
Quality assurance takes place in a separate part of the building through a materials laboratory. For inspection, micrographs, thermal and spectral analyses are carried out. Non-destructive testing methods include ultrasonic testing (DIN EN ISO 9712:2012, Level 2) and magnetic particle testing. This is supplemented by hardness testing according to Brinell.
