About Novozymes
Novozymes A/S is a Danish biotechnology company headquartered in Bagsværd near Copenhagen. Founded in 2000 as a spin-off from Novo Nordisk, the company researches, develops and produces industrial enzymes, microorganisms and biopharmaceutical ingredients. The products are used in industries such as agriculture, food, detergents, bioenergy, animal nutrition and pharma, enabling, among other things, higher crop yields, low-temperature washing, energy-efficient production and renewable fuels. In January 2024, Novozymes merged with Chr. Hansen to form the Novonesis Group; the legal entity Novozymes A/S is part of this group. The company supplies around 130 markets worldwide and generated revenue of DKK 17.6 billion in 2022. Its roots go back to 1925, when the brothers Harald and Thorvald Pedersen founded the Novo Terapeutisk Laboratorium.
