The Company
Otto Klumpp GmbH is a family business founded in 1961 and headquartered in Balingen-Ostdorf. Its main purpose is the development, manufacture and distribution of plastic injection-moulded articles and injection moulds. With around 140 employees and over 12,000 m² of production space, the company produces thermoplastic injection-moulded products ranging from small series of 100 parts per year to large series of 10 million parts per year with precision in the hundredth of a millimetre range. The value chain covers development and design, in-house toolmaking, injection moulding production, insert moulding, finishing, assembly, automation and logistics with just-in-time delivery. The cleanroom production is classified as ISO 14644 Class 7/8. Customers come from automotive engineering, filtration technology, medical technology and industrial technology, with products such as suction strainers with overmoulded filter fabric, cardiotomy reservoirs, autotransfusion vacuum containers made of thin-walled polycarbonate and engine compartment covers.

Materials and Processes
Thermoplastics
Used for precise injection-moulded products in the hundredth-of-a-millimetre range, from small to large series.
Polycarbonate
Processed into thin-walled, stable vacuum containers for autotransfusion.
Filter fabric
Fabric is cut, deep-drawn and overmoulded into suction strainers in insert-moulding injection moulding.
Steel (mould inserts)
Processed in the in-house toolmaking department on EDM, milling, turning, drilling and grinding machines into mould inserts.

Additional services
Quality
Worker self-inspection is carried out at specially equipped measuring stations; filter components are evaluated and monitored 100% via a camera system. A 3-D measuring microscope supports the measurements, and the cleanroom production is optimised to ISO 14644 Class 7/8.
