OWS Service für Schienenfahrzeuge GmbH maintains, overhauls, modernizes and repairs rail vehicles in Weiden in der Oberpfalz. Its offering includes maintenance and main inspections (including the IS 710 overhaul) of multiple units, passenger coaches, diesel and electric locomotives, track construction machines and freight wagons, including on-demand repair of tank wagons. Its value chain includes welding, bonding, sandblasting and painting including preparation and drying, GRP manufacturing of individual and partial components for accident repairs, bogie and wheelset reconditioning with a pressure test rig, brake overhauls according to VPI, design, control technology and mechatronics as well as non-destructive testing (VT, PT, MT, UT, ET). The workshop comprises over 27,000 m² of main workshop hall, 48 work stations and a large high-bay warehouse for spare parts.
