PharmaProtect Solutions GmbH (PPS), headquartered in Berlin, is a company of the four leading German pharmaceutical associations Pharma Deutschland e.V., Bundesverband der Pharmazeutischen Industrie (BPI), Pro Generika and Verband Forschender Arzneimittelhersteller (vfa). At the initiative of these shareholders, PPS develops and operates IT systems for the pharmaceutical industry in a regulatory environment. The offering includes the Anti-Counterfeit System (ACS), a database system that verifies the authenticity of every medicine pack by comparing the printed pack data with the stored data, the Electronic Product Leaflet System (EPL) for patient information leaflets in FHIR format, the HAR System for calculating statutory manufacturer discounts, as well as the National Alert Management System (NAMS) and reporting systems. The quality management system meets the requirements of ISO 9001:2015. The system users are pharmaceutical manufacturers, generics manufacturers and pharmaceutical wholesalers.
