About Montavit
Montavit is an Austrian pharmaceutical company based in Absam near Innsbruck, founded in 1945 by Dr. Alfred Fröhlich and Daniel Swarovski. The family business develops and produces over-the-counter (OTC) medicines and medical devices for the therapy areas of urinary tract, women's health, respiratory tract, skin & allergy, sleep, travel kit, and digestion – including the well-known catheter gel brand Cathejell. Additionally, Montavit operates as a contract manufacturer and production partner for other pharmaceutical companies, offering full-service contract manufacturing: from galenic development and the production of emulsions, gels, granules, charcoal tablets, liquids, powders, sterile products, suppositories, and film-coated tablets and dragees, to packaging according to the EU GMP guideline. The value chain also includes the steam sterilization of gels and lubricants, the production of plant extracts, and a high-performing Carbo-Medicinalis production. Products are exported to over 80 countries; since 2023, Montavit has been part of the Dermapharm AG corporate group.
