About us

Pyraser Landbrauerei GmbH & Co. KG is a family brewery in the village of Pyras, part of the municipality of Thalmässing, in the Franconian region. The brewery produces around 22 beer varieties, including six seasonal specialties, as well as, under the Pyraser Waldquelle brand, three varieties of mineral water, lemonades, juices, spritzers and, since 2024, two varieties of wine spritzer. In 2017, a total of 190,000 hectoliters of beverages were filled, of which 40 percent was beer. Since 1999, the water for all products has come from the brewery's own mineral well, 105 meters deep. All beers, lemonades and vitality drinks are vegan and are filled into proprietary bottles with embossed glass and twist-off caps. Energy supply has come from a biogas plant since 1990, complemented since 2014 by a photovoltaic system that covers about half of the electricity demand. Distribution is handled by beverage wholesalers with their own vehicle fleet; the brewery is a member of the initiative "Die Freien" Brauer and of Brauring.
