About Regionalenergie Osttirol
Regionalenergie Osttirol reg. Gen.m.b.H. (REO) is a limited liability registered cooperative founded in 1996 and headquartered in Tristach near Lienz. The company operates a network of 18 biomass heating plants with a total capacity of approximately 18,000 kW, where hackwood from regional forestry is burned. The boiler technology comes from manufacturers such as Mawera, Urbas, Agro Forst, Köb, Fröhling, Heizomat, and Kohlbach. REO supplies households and small businesses in the municipalities of the East Tyrol district with district and local heating at fair, indexed prices. Additionally, the company maintains wood and hackwood storage facilities for members to purchase energy wood, offers heat and cold tariffs, e-car-sharing (FLUGS), electricity (REO Strom), as well as a maintenance and emergency service with its own plant technicians. The cooperative approach ensures short supply routes and regional value creation.
