About Sauter Bachmann
Sauter, Bachmann AG, based in Netstal in the canton of Glarus, has been developing and producing precision gears, gearboxes and complete drive systems since 1922. The product range includes spur gears and gear rims, worm shafts and worm wheels, spiral bevel gears, hypoid gears, Hirth serrations as well as internal gearing – milled, shaped, planed, ground, lapped and honed. An in-house heat treatment facility with laboratory enables case hardening, gas nitriding, surface layer hardening and cryogenic treatment; in addition, metallurgical analyses, crack testing, nital tests, hardness testing and gear measurements including single-flank rolling tests are offered. The range of services also includes gearing and design engineering, gearbox assembly for industrial and aviation gearboxes, and contract machining of metal. Customers include aerospace, mechanical and automotive engineering, railway, energy and environmental technology, machine tool manufacturing, the packaging industry and defense technology. More than half of the products are exported, mainly to the USA and the EU. A subsidiary, Sauter, Bachmann Italia Srl in Gravellona Toce, complements the engineering capacities.
