About Schmidhammer Luft- und Klimatechnik
Schmidhammer Luft- und Klimatechnik GmbH is a family business founded in 1972, headquartered in Dasing near Augsburg, manufacturing components for exhaust ventilation systems from thermoplastic plastics. The product range includes pipes and molded parts, ducts, throttling and regulating elements, mufflers, discharge elements, hoods, roof fittings, flexible connections, connecting and revision parts, and fan accessories. Additionally, special shaped parts, cladding, basins, and extraction hoods are designed and manufactured according to customer specifications. Manufacturing takes place on several specialized production lines with a Just-in-Time orientation, a self-developed bending and notching machine with a 3 m bending length, and a butt welding machine with a 2 m welding length. Materials include PP, PPs, PPh, electrically conductive and flame-retardant PP-el-s (UL94/V0) for hazardous areas (ATEX), PVC, PE, and PVDF. In addition to manufacturing, the company maintains a large warehouse with approximately 12,000 products and approx. 5,000 m of piping, offers plastic welding training, and rental service for welding equipment. Customers include ventilation and climate technology, the chemical industry, and systems operating in chemically stressed, damp, and aggressive atmospheres.

Company History
- 1972
Foundion of Schmidhammer GmbH in Penzberg as an independent branch of J. Schmidhammer GmbH from Bruneck (South Tyrol), initially as an assembly operation for galvanized sheet metal ventilation systems.
First large order within a working group with a plastics processor; acquisition of the partner including employees and machinery; relocation to Munich-Sendling with a small plastic manufacturing workshop.
Entry of Heinz Birk-Striebel as managing director and shareholder; focus on production and assembly of plastic exhaust ventilation systems.
Relocation to Neuried with a significant expansion of production capacity; realization of projects nationwide.
Purchase of the property in Dasing with existing spacious production hall and office area.
Construction of a new office and production building with 2,300 m² of production area.
Joachim Birk-Striebel assumes operational management.
Cessation of assembly activity; focus on Just-in-Time manufacturing of plastic ducts, molded parts, mufflers, and regulating elements; commencement of trading activities and modernization of the machinery.
Acquisition of company shares by Joachim Birk-Striebel; installation of a solar power system that regeneratively covers up to 60% of electricity consumption.
Development and construction of a bending and notching machine with a 3 m bending length and remote maintenance; commissioning of a butt welding machine with a 2 m welding length and pull-through jig.
