About SKM
SKM Schwergewebekonfektion Moers GmbH is a medium-sized, family-owned group in its third generation with around 70 employees at two sites in Moers (NRW) and Oberlungwitz (Saxony). The company converts technical textiles and heavy fabrics into tarps, covers, impact protection sheets and transportable products. Manufacturing includes automated CAD cutting with a cutting field of up to 3 m × 3 m, high-frequency and hot-wedge welding, textile sewing technology, bonding and large-format digital printing. In addition, SKM manufactures steel and sheet metal parts including cutting, bending, MAG welding and assembly, as well as weight-reduced components made from the textile-reinforced fiber composite Olu-Preg®. Materials processed include fabrics, coated fabrics, PVC, Kevlar and leather. Customers are primarily the agricultural industry, mechanical engineering, print media/publishers, postal, parcel and last-mile services as well as intralogistics; deliveries are made worldwide with its own vehicle fleet.
