About the SLR Group
The SLR Group, headquartered in St. Leon-Rot near Heidelberg, produces over 130,000 tonnes per year of ductile iron (GJS) machine components. Production uses the sand casting process on automatic moulding lines, complemented by an in-house core shop for core-intensive series parts. The process chain covers pattern and tool making, casting, fettling/finishing, NC and CNC machining on more than 55 machines, as well as pre-assembly and inspection of finished parts. The materials comply with DIN EN 1563, from EN-GJS-400-18 to EN-GJS-700-2, as well as solid-solution-strengthened Si materials. Customers come mainly from the construction machinery, commercial vehicle and agricultural machinery industries, as well as rail technology, mechanical engineering, hydraulics and drive technology. In addition to the foundries in St. Leon-Rot and Elsterheide, the group operates a toolmaking site in Eging a. See and machining plants in Hungary and the Czech Republic; it supplies customers in Europe, the USA, South America, China and Japan.

Quality Management
Quality management is certified to ISO 9001:2015; a testing laboratory operates in accordance with DIN EN ISO/IEC 17025. Every casting batch is checked with an optical emission spectrometer, and the castings are measured using 3D coordinate measuring technology.
