The profile makers from Dahn
SLS Kunststoffverarbeitungs GmbH & Co. KG was founded in 1985 in Dahn (Rhineland-Palatinate) and produces extruded plastic profiles for industries such as window, door and gate construction, facade and dry construction, metal and control cabinet construction, electrical engineering, automotive and caravan construction, mechanical engineering, the packaging and furniture industries, and shading technology. The range of services covers profile development, CAD design with 3D-printed sample production (FDM, DLP), in-house toolmaking with over 2,000 manufactured extrusion tools, and (co-/post-co-)extrusion of solid and hollow profiles with unit weights of 20 to 5,000 g/m. Around 110 employees work in three-shift operation across approximately 3,100 m² of production space on more than 30 extrusion lines, with an annual throughput of around 7,000 tonnes of material. Engineering plastics such as PVC, W-PVC, ABS, PE, PP, PS, PLA, PETG, POM, PC-ABS, ASA, SB, PVC foam and WPC are processed, along with recycled granulate from an in-house recycling loop. Extrusion is complemented by a finishing department offering precision cutting, punching, drilling, milling, assembly and retail-ready packaging – including just-in-time kits. An internal machine-building department builds calibration tables, co-extruders and special systems itself and modernises existing systems through retrofitting.

Quality and certifications
Quality control is carried out every two hours alongside production by operators as well as independently by the QA department in accordance with DIN EN 477, 478, 479 and DIN EN 527 (ball-drop test, tensile test, heat ageing, shrinkage test, colour measurement, video measurement). Each profile is individually marked with material, production date and quality seal; measurement records are documented on a long-term basis.
