About Stellba
Stellba Surface Technology AG is an owner-managed Swiss SME headquartered in Döttingen, specializing in customized coating solutions, additive metal processing, laser welding and mechanical manufacturing. In close collaboration with customers, universities and research institutions, the company develops new processes, including thermal spraying with Stellite alloys, Plasma-Transferred-Arc (PTA) and laser deposition welding with wire or powder on an 11-axis CNC-controlled laser welding system with a travel path of 7900 x 4500 x 1000 mm. A development partnership with the CHIRON Group has existed since 2019; since 2021 its AM Cube 3D metal printer has been in industrial use at Stellba for coating, 3D printing and repair. Mechanical manufacturing includes turning (4000 x 2500 mm), milling (13000 x 5000 x 2800 mm), grinding and heat treatment; XXL assemblies are also assembled (crane up to 17 t, hook height 12 m) and repairs of steam and water turbines are carried out. Core industries are turbine and special machinery manufacturing, for example steam turbine parts for operating conditions of 600 °C and 300 bar with tolerances below 0.05 mm. The production area exceeds 2500 m².
