About us
Terratec Basalt GmbH operates the Basalt Lava Works Ettringen 100 in the Vordereifel region and has been mining basalt and basalt lava in open-pit quarries there for decades. On a site covering more than 29,000 m², the raw material is extracted with its own drilling rigs for blast preparation, excavators, tracked vehicles and dump trucks, and crushed in a stationary crushing plant into aggregates in various grain sizes from 0-5 mm to 60-120 mm. The extraction volume is up to 2,000 tonnes per day. Customers of the bulk goods include road and path construction companies, civil engineering companies and residential construction firms. In addition, with 35 permanent employees, the company offers its own freight forwarding business with five vehicles as well as the acceptance and recycling of excavated soil (BM0/BG0/BM0*/BG0*) and soil/construction rubble according to LAGA Z 1.1 and Z 1.2 up to landfill class III.
