About TFP Technology

TFP Technology GmbH is a German manufacturer of textile semi-finished products based in Falkenstein in the Vogtland region (Saxony). The company produces fiber preforms and reinforcement structures, electric heating elements made from insulated metal strands and carbon fibers, as well as sensor mats with textile sensors for damage sensing, measurement data acquisition and data transmission. The basic process is Tailored Fiber Placement (TFP), also known as roving placement: on CNC-controlled embroidery machines, fiber strands made of carbon, glass fiber, aramid, basalt or natural fibers such as flax, hemp and jute are laid onto flexible carrier materials in a force-flow-oriented manner, while functional threads, sensors, wires or heating conductors are integrated. The semi-finished products are used for further processing into fiber composite components in thermoplastics (PP, PEEK, PA6), thermosets (epoxy resins, polyester resins, silicones), SMC material or concrete. The service portfolio includes the development and design of customized layouts, prototype construction and series production in small and large series. Customer industries include the fiber composite and lightweight construction industry, automotive, aerospace, industrial 3D printing systems, livestock farming and climate technology, laboratory and medical technology, environmental simulation as well as concrete construction.
