High-pressure technology from Dortmund and Hagen
thyssenkrupp Uhde with its subsidiary Uhde High Pressure Technologies (UHPT) manufactures high-pressure plants and components for the process industry: valves, piping, pumps, reactors, heat exchangers, pressure vessels as well as complete plants for LDPE, fertilizer and hydrogen applications. Manufacturing in Hagen includes bending, welding and cold forming of high-pressure pipes (PN 200 to PN 4,000), centrifugal casting of creep-resistant reformer tubes, stainless steel overlay welding as well as valve and pressure testing. In addition, UHPT supplies ultra-high-pressure pumps up to 6,000 bar, industrial waterjet cutting systems, HPP plants (Uhde 400L+) and supercritical CO2 extraction plants. Materials include carbon steel, heat-resistant austenitic steels, Safurex duplex steel and hydrogen-resistant low-alloy steels. Customers come from the fertilizer, chemical, LDPE, coking and food industries. thyssenkrupp Uhde plant engineering (approx. 4,000–4,500 employees worldwide) is headquartered in Dortmund; further locations include Berlin, Houston and Nova Lima.
