About Tiprego
Tiprego is a textile printing house in Basel that is fully dedicated to handmade work. Printing is done using hand screen printing on a 15-meter printing table; prints on high-quality natural fabrics such as silk, cotton, linen, and wool are created using screens and squeegees, including silk twill for foulards. According to its own statement, synthetic fibers are not used; the fabric is sourced and carefully selected worldwide. Colors are mixed in the studio, the in-house color atlas serves as a reference, and prints are made using reactive and acid dyes. Tiprego works on exclusive small series and manufactures upon customer request; they are known for their own collections such as «Espace du Monde» and «El Disco Magico», as well as commissioned works, such as a gift box for the Basel Packaging and Product Design office 9•6. The studio is located at Güterstrasse 145 in 4053 Basel, in the basement of the back courtyard, and is run by Karl Baumgartner.
