About Umformtechnik Stendal GmbH

Umformtechnik Stendal GmbH (UTS) was privatised via the Treuhand in 1992 and looks back on more than 20 years of sheet metal forming tradition dating back to the SKET combine. As a subsidiary of the Becker Group, the company produces press, deep-drawn and stamped parts on eccentric, hydraulic and servo presses up to 800 t of press force, as well as laser and punch-nibbling parts and press-brake parts in its flexible manufacturing. Materials processed include steel (including ultra-high and higher-strength grades), stainless steel, aluminium and special materials such as aluminium hybrids in sheet thicknesses from 0.5 to 5.0 mm. In the assembly department, individual parts are turned into complete assemblies using MAG/MIG/TIG welding, spot and projection welding, orbital riveting and clinching; the in-house toolmaking shop develops and maintains the associated tools. Customers come from the automotive, domestic and heating appliance, household appliance, marine and sanitary industries, including VW, Daimler, Bosch/Siemens, Vaillant and Gestamp. Production runs range from several thousand to several million pieces; a subsidiary in Skalica (Slovakia) supplements press-brake, welding and assembly capacity.
