VDV Stahl- und Metallbau GmbH is a family-owned master-level and welding specialist company located in Dortmund-Holzen. The company manufactures custom steel and metal constructions, as well as container, piping, and apparatus construction for commercial and industrial customers. The range of services includes design and drafting in AutoCAD, static calculations in collaboration with an engineering office, CNC-controlled cutting of construction and stainless steel up to 2000x4000 mm with a maximum thickness of 200 mm, mechanical machining (turning, milling, boring), sheet metal cutting and forming with plate shear, press brake, and 3-roll bending machine, welding, as well as assembly and repair work. Railings, stairs, handrails, window grilles, balconies, and individual metalwork are also fabricated. A team of 10 skilled workers and trainees operates on 650 sqm of production area; its own fleet handles transports up to 7.49 t gross weight. The company is a certified specialist in welding according to DIN EN 1090-2 (EXC 2) and a recognized specialist company according to the Water Management Act.

Company History
- 2002
Founded by Franz van der Ven; founder and wife were the only employees initially.

First employees hired; production site moved from Schwerte to Holzen; 2nd place in the founder competition of the Unna district.

Ina van der Ven joins the company on 01.04.2007; renamed to VDV Stahl- und Metallbau GmbH; management led by Franz and Ina van der Ven.
