About VELA Schrauben
VELA Schrauben GmbH is a medium-sized family business founded in 1980, now in its second generation, headquartered in Neuhausen auf den Fildern with a production site in Kierspe. The company manufactures clamp combination screws from M2.5 to M6 with captive, permanently mounted clamping washers and clamping bows, protective earth terminals, frame terminals, slotted terminals, combination screws to DIN 6900 as well as drawing parts and assemblies to customer specifications. With around 20 employees, a daily volume of over one million screws, terminals and drawing parts is produced. The products are aimed in particular at the electrical industry and its highly automated production centers and assembly machines; dimensions and specifications are matched to the requirements of automated assembly. The value chain also includes electroplating and assembly installation; a technical laboratory performs torque, hardness and coating thickness measurements. The company is certified to DIN ISO 9001 and DIN ISO 14001 and supplies customers worldwide.

Materials and Processes
Steel (screw material)
Material of the clamp combination screws; for special applications, different materials and surface finishes are combined depending on requirements.
Electroplating
Targeted plating of the screw and/or clamping washer to optimize existing components and assembly processes as well as for pull-out tests.
Captive washer mounting
Mounting process that fastens clamping washers and clamping bows captively onto the screw and enables a virtually flush tightening.

Additional services
Quality and Environmental Management
In its own technical laboratory, torque tests up to breaking torque (including documentation of the fracture behavior), hardness measurements to Vickers and Rockwell, and coating thickness measurements of electroplated coatings using the X-ray fluorescence method are performed. A high-resolution measuring microscope is used for error analysis in incoming goods and during production; the company is certified to DIN ISO 9001 and DIN ISO 14001.
