Viessmann Climate Solutions is a manufacturer of integrated climate and energy solutions headquartered in Allendorf (Eder). Founded in 1917, the company produces heating technology, heat pumps, solar collectors, refrigeration technology, ventilation systems, control technology and battery storage systems for residential buildings, commerce, industry and municipalities. Series production includes gas condensing boilers, large-scale heat pumps, combined heat and power units as well as hot water and steam generators, alongside various metalworking technologies and additive manufacturing processes in prototype construction. Materials include steel and stainless steel; the focus is on natural refrigerants such as propane (R290) and hydrogen-ready operation. Research and development is concentrated in the Technikum opened in 2017 in Allendorf, which spans from prototype to series maturity and includes laboratories for chemistry, electrical engineering, metallurgy and acoustics. Since January 2024, the business division has been part of the Carrier Global Corporation; with 120 sales offices in 74 countries and production sites in twelve countries, the company has an international presence.
