About Vortex Photonics
Vortex Photonics is a sole proprietorship founded in 2013 and based in Planegg near Munich, specializing in the manufacturing of high-precision diffractive optical components. The product portfolio includes Spiral Phase Plates (Vortex Lenses) that convert a Gaussian beam into an optical vortex with a dark intensity center, Phase Steps or Hermite-Gaussian Mode Converters, as well as circular Pi plates (axial phase plates) for axial beam shaping. Additionally, custom phase plates are manufactured with individual wavelengths, topological charges, and geometries. The optics are made of resistant Fused Silica and feature geometrical accuracy in the nanometer range, making them suitable for use in high-energy and pulsed laser systems. Production is locally and transparently conducted in Germany, with every manufacturing step documented; dimensions are tailored to standardized holders and adapters. Customers are found in optical research, laser material processing, medical technology, telecommunications, as well as in super-resolution microscopy (STED, MINFLUX) and quantum computing.
