About the Winkelmann Group
The Winkelmann Group is an owner-managed family business headquartered in Ahlen, Westphalia, where the parent company was founded in 1898. As a globally active metal company, the group manufactures high-performance and energy-efficient components and systems based on its core competence of metal forming: steel products are created through forming – including flow forming and steel sheet forming – machining, joining technology and assembly. The steel components are used, among other things, in engines and fuel modules for the automotive industry as well as in the energy sector and the aerospace industry. Through Winkelmann Material Solutions GmbH (WMS) in Ahlen, the group acts as a supplier to the steel processing industry, handling procurement and demand-synchronized just-in-time supply of flat steel – from hot-rolled strip, cold-rolled sheet and heavy plate to pre-processed blanks, slit strip and bars made of standard and specialty steels. Today the group comprises 29 companies in 16 countries with production sites in Poland, Turkey, China and the USA, and around 3,700 employees generating revenue of approximately 640 million euros.
