System supplier for plastic systems in cleanroom quality

Wirthwein Medical GmbH & Co. KG is a system supplier for plastic-based components, packaging materials and systems with a focus on diagnostics, medical technology and pharmaceuticals. Founded in 1946, the family-owned company produces thermoplastic molded parts by precision injection molding (part weights from 0.07 g to 800 g, cavity counts from 1 to 96) as well as hollow bodies by extrusion blow molding (5 ml to 6 l) – predominantly in ISO Class 7 cleanrooms according to DIN EN ISO 14644-1. More than 300 thermoplastics such as polyolefins, COC/COP, PC, ABS, PA, PMMA, PET and TPE as well as biopolymers are processed. The value chain includes product and process development, design with simulation, rapid prototyping, in-house toolmaking up to 3 t and 96 cavities, cleanroom assembly (manual to robot-assisted), printing, fluorination, sterilization (EO, beta, gamma), packaging/labeling as well as logistics. Around 10 million plastic components are produced daily, over two billion molded parts annually on 100 injection molding and 15 extrusion blow molding machines. Three plants in Mühltal and Ober-Ramstadt (Hesse) plus a site in Çerkezköy/Turkey (under construction) form the production base; since 2005 the company has been part of the Wirthwein Group.
