About Z-Mechanic
Z-Mechanic is a family-owned company from Niederwil in the canton of St. Gallen (Switzerland) that has been manufacturing custom precision parts for mechanical engineering and precision mechanics since 1969. The company machines CNC turned and milled parts as contract manufacturing – from prototypes and single parts to small, medium and large series. The machine fleet comprises three CNC lathes, one turn-mill center and two 5-axis machining centers (Hermle C250, DMG MORI DMU 40 monoBLOCK), programmed with Mastercam X. All commercially available metals such as stainless steel, aluminium, brass and bronze are machined, as well as special materials such as titanium alloys (including gamma alloys), nickel alloys, Ferrotitanit and plastics. In addition to machining, Z-Mechanic offers laser cutting, grinding, slotting, gearing in metal or plastic, surface treatment, material procurement, warehousing (e.g. Kanban based on annual demand) as well as pre-assembly and complete assembly of assemblies. Customers come from, among others, mechanical engineering, precision mechanics, the watch industry and medical technology. Since 2016, Reto and Peter Zweidler have been running the company in the second generation with four employees.
